SYMPOSIUM OF MONUMENTAL SCULPTURE - CANADA

A Canadian town and a local cultural organization organize a monumental sculpture symposium. The event will be held from July to August 2015, with 7 sculptures of 5 feet or more.

Preferences
- The City is open to proposals for both figurative and abstract sculptures.
- the preferred materials are stone, metal, glass fiber.
- Involved in the preservation of its historical heritage, the municipality will appreciate sculptures proposed in relation to the local history from yesterday to today.

Subjects:

- The sea, fishing, boats, anchors, lighthouses
- agricultural jobs
- Symbols
- The great deportation, family separation, injury, pain, loss
- The folk tales and legends or mythical characters (Evangeline, Gabriel, La Sagouine, etc.)
- The great “Tintamarre” (tumult): The tradition is to walk through the city making noise at the National Day celebration. The term comes from the word that originally means "discordant sounds."
- Music: violin, guitar, banjo and music.

Materials:
Stone (limestone, marble, granite, ...), glass fiber, metal (steel, aluminum). The materials will be offered by the organization up to a value of $ 3,000.
Honorarium: $ 5,000
Room and board in individual rooms covered by the organization.
Travel expenses paid by the artist.
