SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – GERMANY

Deadline: 15th March 2014 A German town organizes a sculpture symposium in collaboration with and the advertising activity group of the city. The main theme of the Symposium will be “Fire and Water”. It will take place from 30. August until 7. September 2014. Fifteen artists of different nationalities, chosen by an expert jury, will be invited, and they will be notified within 10th April 2014. Artists will receive a trunk of spruce or maple (200-230 cm of height and about 60 cm of diameter). All tools and extra materials must be provided by the sculptors themselves, but for those artists travelling by bus, train or plane, electric chain saws will be available. Each artist receives an honorarium of EUR 1000, which will be paid on finishing of the sculpture. In addition, the organization will refund extra costs for boarding and lodging, and also for one meal a day. One prizes of 1.000 EUR will be presented to the artist whose work is chosen by the public.
