INTERNATIONAL ICE SCULPTURE FESTIVAL – KAZAKHSTAN

The Open International Sculpture Festival will be held from January 7th to January 12th 2014 in a ParkResort in Kazakhstan.

THEME
The Open Ice Sculpture Competition is WORLD ARCHITECTURE.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
The sculptors must be presents in park meeting on Monday, January 6th 2014 and at the closing ceremony of Sunday, January 12th 2014.

LODGING AND MEALS
The committee will provide lodging and meals for each participant. That room will be available from noon on Monday, January 6th until noon on Monday January 13th 2014.

PARTICIPANT
Only one person team may participate. Committee will provide each participant with 1-2 technical assistants.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation to and from the airport to and from the place will be provided. Each team must have a maximum of three luggages’ and a tool box.
For the sculptors from Kazakhstan and CIS, the committee will reimburse an amount not more than 80,000 KZT/ 520usd/ 390 eu per sculptor for plane (economy class), bus or train tickets.

For the sculptors from other countries, the amount given by the committee will be discussed individually with each participant.

ICE BLOC
Each team will be given 20 ice blocks measuring approximately 0.75 meters x 0.45 meters x 0.25 meters. Committee will provide with additional blocs if need. Committee will provide with special podium for sculpture which is measuring 1.5 meters x 1.5 meters and 0.4 meters height. Sculpture measure should be not less than 1.5 meters height and not less than 1.2 meters width (podium height not included)

The sculpting place that each team receives will be drawn by lottery

EQUIPMENTS
The committee will provide each team with shovel, a ladder, a light, scaffolding and some hand sculpting tools. All sculptors must bring their own chainsaw, special hand sculpting tools as they are not provided. Each sculptor is responsible for the safety and security of all the carving tools and equipment. A secure lock up area will be provided. The use of any electrical, flame making, hydraulic or mechanical device is prohibited without committee agreement.

JURY AWARD
The jury award, a cash prize for
1st Prize - 1,000, 000 KZT/
2nd Prize – 500, 000 KZT
3rd – Prize – 250, 000 KZT
participants will award with diploma.
To each participant who will not win a prize, committee will pay cash scholarship 50,000 KZT.
