AWARD ARTS IN NATURE – FRANCE
 | Deadline: 17 of December 2012 The Tourist Office of a French region organizes a contest about arts and environment, from 15th June till 15th September 2013. The festival is an artistic event of national influence and freely accessible; it is aimed at people of all kinds, informed or not. The artworks will be installed in places where they highlight the surrounding countryside’s qualities. The potential places for installing the works are based on the following criteria: Aesthetic and artistic factors of the place: an unusual, open, visible natural environment Natural sites Different types of site (lake, forest, open space, etc.) Enough space to be able to cater for the work of art, visitors and events Facilities for the public nearby (car park, rest area, etc.). Sites accessible to everyone (children, the elderly, people with reduced mobility), or at least visible from far. The organizer invites the artists to choose 3 sites out of the selected sites. Only one site per artist, out of the three he/she has picked, will be chosen by the committee according to the artist’s approach and the originality of his/her proposal. The artists will submit either three projects for three different sites, a project for three similar sites. The aim of the event is to: Develop contemporary creation in the area Allow professional artists to contribute their sensitivity and view of the area Reinforce the growth of tourism in the region
Theme: No specific theme has been given to the event so as to leave the artists free to express their artistic temperament. However, a guideline is taking shape around the notions of "the environment", "territory" and "creation, "Art and ecology". Choice of materials: the artist is free to choose any type of material while respecting the site’s environment. Art pieces using materials from nature, recycled materials or renewable energy such as wind or solar energy will be privileged. The contest is open to all artists, young talent too, students, alone or in team, of Schools of Art, Architecture, Landscape, in penultimate or final year of degree course or have graduated since last year. Prize: -8,000 eu This amount is inclusive all of costs associated with the artwork After selecting the artists, the 10 candidates chosen will receive the art grant according to a specific payment scheme. The grant will be paid in three stages: 1st payment: 3,000eu paid at the outset, after selection 2nd payment: 2,500 eu paid on installation of the work of art 3rd payment: 2,500eu paid at the end of the event.
