INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTURE COMPETITION – CANADA
 | Deadline: 1st of October 2012 This International Snow Sculpture Competition will be held from February 7th to February 10th 2013 in a town of Canada located 100 kilometres east from Quebec City and 350 kilometres from Montreal. The committee will provide lodging for each team (3 people): one room per team. During the competition, all meals will be provided by the committee. Local transportation will be provided. For the sculptors from North America, the committee will reimburse an amount of $ 300 CDN per sculptor for plane tickets. For the sculptors from outside the north-american continent, the amount given by the committee is $500 CDN per sculptor. Each team will be given a cylindrical block of compacted snow measuring approximately 3.7 meters (12 feet) of diameter by 3.7 meters (12 feet) of height. Maximum use of the block's volume and mass is required. However the finished work must not exceed the initial volume. The sculpture must be moulded in a rounded fashion as opposed to a raised fashion (in relief). Snow is the only material allowed. The organization will provide the basic tools. Teams have to bring their personal tools. A cash prize of $1,000 CAD will be awarded to the winning team.
