INTERNATIONAL WOOD SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – 2013
 | Deadline: 25th of September 2012 The organization invites artists to send proposals, which respond to the theme “regrowth” (growing back ,regeneration). This inaugural International Wood Sculpture Symposium, will be held from 10 till 24 February 2013. Sculpture material is oak log of various dimensions. Extra features or materials may be added (at the artist’s own expense) if the additions are integral to the design. Traditional, contemporary or avant-garde designs are accepted but favour will be given to more innovative and original designs. The sculptures will be pre-sold and exhibited in various locations and later consigned to the sponsor. Participants of the symposium will be provided with (basic) lodging and meals (breakfast/lunch). Partners/assistants are welcome but must pay for food and lodging. The organizer undertakes to pay NZ$1500.00 towards the travel expenses of participants from outside New Zealand and Australia (return economy class airfare), after presentation of receipts at the end of the symposium. Transfer to lodgings will be arranged. North Island and Australian participants will be allocated NZ$300.00 for travel expenses, and South Islanders NZ$100.00. Upon satisfactory completion of the work all participants of the symposium will receive an artists fee of NZ$3000.00 for realising their proposed design.
