1 SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – ARGENTINA

A Municipality in Argentina will realize the "1 Sculpture Symposium- Sculptures to Be used" that will take place from the 07th to the 16th of September 2012. Ten sculptors of the region of the MERCOSUR (Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina) will be selected to participate Every sculptor will have an irregular block of natural stone of approximately 1,00 m. cube or two pieces of smaller volume. To allow a larger creativeness, it will be possible to add wood. In case artist wants to add such material,, the organization furnish a trunk of 1,50
m of length x 0,50 ms of diameter.
The projects will have to gather the following conditions:
a) Be original and unpublished
b) Conceive the work so that to allow children and adults to interact with it: to take a seat, to climb, to play, in a public space following the theme of the symposium: "sculptures to be used”
Honorary: 6.000 $, six thousand pesos.
Awards that will be assigned by direct vote of the public
1º Prize: 5.000 $, five thousand pesos
2º Prize: 3.000 $, three thousand pesos
3º Prize: 2.000 $, two thousand pesos
The organization will furnish board and lodging to the artists participants.
The selected artists will have to bring a sculpture of approximately 50 cms. for the exhibition "Sculptures of the Mercosur."
