2nd. INTERNATIONAL STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - INDIA, 2013

A Foundation in India invites proposals for its 2nd.. International Stone Sculpture Symposium to be held between the 1st . February to 3rd March, 2013 (4 weeks, extendable by one week wherever necessary) at the its site. A total of 16 sculptors (12 foreigners and 4 Indians ) will be selected to participate in the symposium. The Foundation will provide stones of different kinds (white marble, black marble and granite stones) at the choice of sculptors.
The minimum desired dimension of the sculpture to be realized during the symposium is 2.5 mtrs x 1mtr x 1 mtr. and the maximum dimension is as per sculptor’s desire. The theme of sculpture is free, but environmental in kind to be installed in an open space against natural background. The Foundation will provide partially some basic tools including 2 technical assistants to each sculptor, individual working tents with electrical extension boards, compressor air connections. Sculptors have to bring with them their special tools. The Foundation will provide free stay, food and reimburse the air fare in economy class and transportation in India by air or train.
Each participating sculptors will be given 2500 US dollars or Indian money of equivalent value as honorarium on the closing day of the symposium. It is conditioned that the participating sculptors will not leave the site before the closing date of the symposium, and will have responsibilities to complete his/her sculpture within the period of the symposium.
All the sculptures realized in the symposium will be the property of the Foundation.
