INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - GERMANY
 | Deadline: 31st of March 2012 The 17th sculpture symposium is organized from a town in Germany from 26th August until 2nd September, 2012. 15 artists of different nationalities, chosen by a jury of experts, will be invited.The theme of the symposium is “In the beginning there was Goodness:...”. Each artist will receive a tree trunk (spruce/Douglas fir/maple) of between 180 cm and 240 cm in height and with a circumference of 50 to 60 cm. Upon request, the trunks can be sawn beforehand (2 halves or planks of specified dimensions). All tools and extra materials must be provided by the sculptors themselves. Each artist receives a pre-tax fee of Euro 1000, which will be paid on completion of the sculpture. In addition, a lump-sum for travel expenses will be provided. The organization offers food and lodging for the participating artists. A prize of a further 1.000 Euro will be presented to the artist whose work is chosen by the public. The sculptures become the property of the organiser and will be auctioned on Sunday, 4th September on the square in front of the ”Dom” church.
