SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM IN ARGENTINA AND BRAZIL

Various Institutions are organizing the First International Sculpture Symposium "Hug Argentina - Brazil".
The 1st International Sculpture Symposium "Hug Argentina - Brazil" will take place from September 29 to October 27, 2012.
The Symposium is unprecedented and without reference to other symposia in the world, divided in two stages. Stage 1: from September 29 to October 7 2012 the symposium will take place in a town of Argentina. Stage 2: from the 13th to the 27th of October the symposium will continue in a town of Brazil.
The theme of the sculptures is free.
The organizing committee will select 10 local and foreign sculptors.
The materials will be provided by the organization. In Argentina the sculptors will have to realize a sculpture using National White marble in irregular blocks of approximately 1 m³. In Brazil, the sculptors will have to realize a sculpture using basalt of the region (high hardness), in irregular blocks of approximately 1m ³. The organization offers food and lodging to the participating artists. For international artists, the organization NOT pays airfare or ground transportation arrival. For national artists, the organization does NOT pay travel expenses to the town in argentina. The air transfer from Argentina to Brazil is covered by the organization.
Each participating sculptor will receive the following honorarium:
In Argentina: U.S. $ 2000 (USA dolar)
In Brazil: U.S. $ 2500 (USA dolar)
