2 INTERNATIONAL STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – TURKEY
 | Deadline: 10th of April 2012 This 2nd International Stone Sculpture Symposium will take place from 14 May to 9 June 2012 in a town of Turkey. Six artists will take part in the symposium. The material used for the sculptures will be regional marble. Each artist will be provided with a marble block or blocks of maximum three cubic metres, cut to dimensions specified by the artist. Apart from the installation, the artists are responsible for the cost and technical aspects of extra materials. Artists will be provided with a 220 V electricity supply, extension cables, a compressor for air tools, extension hoses and shading. Artists will bring their own electric and hand tools, as well as their accessories. There is no specific theme for the symposium. However, the organization hopes that artists will not ignore the organizing town's cultural and artistic background. The art works created during the event will belong to the Municipality. The organisers will pay for lodgings, transportation, and three meals a day for the participating artists. For artists coming from abroad, the Municipality will pay for an economy class return flight from the airport nearest to the artists' home address and send it to them as an electronic ticket. All artists who have created a sculpture on the site within the agreed time will be paid Euro 3,000 for general expenditure and copyright.
