PUBLIC ART PROJECT – IRELAND

Ingrandisci la fotoDeadline: 17th of October 2011
A County Council in England invites submissions for a public art project. The artwork is for the interior space of an Arts Centre. There are a number of possible locations for the artwork and the final location has been kept as flexible as possible so that artists can respond to the space without restriction:
- There is substantial wall space from the ground floor leading up to the mezzanine area.
- The double height space in between the mezzanine and the front upper windows could allow for suspended work.
- Work directly onto the windows could also be a possibility.
The organizations aims to commission an high quality, contemporary artwork which will be appropriate for the space and add to the ongoing programme of artwork in the county. Proposals could include collaboration and interaction with the local community, either through demonstrations, workshops, talks etc. (NB this is not an essential element of the commission but the judging panel will look favourably on proposals which positively include this.)
All artforms will be considered though it is assumed the artwork will be permanent. The proposal can be for an existing artwork, if appropriate. Maximum budget is of Euro 20,000 inclusive of all costs and VAT.
