WORK OF ENVIRONMENTAL ART - ITALY

An Italian association promotes an international prize for the realization of an intervention of "site specific environmental art” in the territory of a Contemporary art in Turin, Italy. Theme of the Prize: INTO THE HABITAT. A reflection on the way of living the open spaces of the city. The prize’s aim is to produce an installation proposed by artists or interdisciplinary groups dedicated to the inhabitants of the district and the public that has as objective:
- to promote forms of active citizenship and social cohesion;
- to propose new spaces of sharing;
- to propose new models of aggregation and active fruition of the culture.
Phases of the Prize
First phase
- Presentation of the project of environmental art in clear form;
- Selection of 5 (five) artists or groups that will access the second phase;
Second phase
- Workshop of close examination of the prize’s theme with the selected 5 (five) artists or groups;
- Presentation of the executive project by the selected 5 (five) artists or groups;
- Selection of a winner that will be invited to realize the installation.
Third phase
- Realization of the installation
PRIZES:
1° classified: a prize of 2.000,00
2° - 3° - 4° - 5° classified: a prize of 1.000,00 Euro each
Each of the five classified for the second phase will receive a refund of Euro 500,00 for their expenses of food and lodging to attend the workshop
The 1° classified will receive a refund of 2.500,00 Euro for the expenses during the period of realization (direction of the jobs) of the intervention. The realization of the work is financed for a maximum amount of Euro 20.000,00, included IVA and all the expenses.
