CALL FOR LARGE INSTALLATIONS – UNITED KINGDOM

The organization of this context would like to commission a work for a temporary exhibition focused on end of life themes. This new commission will directly explore an aspect of: advanced ageing, dying,
death, the body after death, or bereavement as subject.
The organizer is a contemporary art gallery based in a former church in one of the oldest
parts of central Brighton.
The organization is currently seeking expressions of interest for a large-scale installation for its exhibition space for 2012 or 2013.
Exhibitions normally last for 8-10 weeks
The organization welcomes expressions of interest from artists working with sculptural, and
photographic and digital media (including those with interactive, film and sound based practices). The budget for the commission is £10,000(UK) and is inclusive of artist fees,
equipment, labour, material and installation costs, VAT. The participation is open to all the artists that will send their expression of interest. The selection panel will short-list 2-4 artists who will be asked to work up a more considered proposal for the commission. A fee of £350 per artist, plus travel expenses will be paid to each artist selected to work up a second stage proposal.
