INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTURE CONTEST - CANADA

Ingrandisci la fotoDeadline: 1st of October 2011
This International snow sculpture contest will take place from the 9th to the 12th of February 2012 in a village in Canada. The organization offers food and lodging to the participating sculptors or teams (every team max 3 people). Every team will have a cylindrical snow block of around 3,7 meters diameter (12 feet) for 3,7 meters high (12 feet) whose circumference must be used at its maximum. The dimension of the finished work doesn't have to overcome the initial volume. The block of snow has to be sculpted “all round” and not as a bas-relief around the four faces. The allowed material is only the snow. The works can be monoliths formed by a solo block, or formed by separate elements that don't have to overcome a distance of 3 meters (10 feet) from the center of the initial block. For the sculptors that reside in North American ground, the organization will give a sum of 900 $(CAD) for team for the expenses of travel or 300 $, CAD, for sculptor. For the teams that come from outside the continent, the sum paid by the organization is of 1 500 $(CAD), or 500 $, CAD, for sculptor. There will be a prize of the jury of 1000 $(CAD)) for the winning team.
