4TH WOOD SCULPTURE COMPETITION 2012 - AUSTRALIA

The gallery in Australia invites artists to submit entries to its wood sculpture competition, to be held in 2012. Each entrant may submit up to two entries. An entry must be an original work of the entrant and must have been executed in the two years prior to the closing date. An entry must: (a) be a sculpture of dimensions not exceeding (h)1.2 m x (w) 1.2 m x (d) 1.2m and weighing no more than 50kgs; (b) constitute at least 80% Australian timber product; (c) be in the possession of the artist or dealer/ agent and available for acquisition. A commission of 33% will be deducted from the purchase price on all sculptures sold.
Prizes:
First Prize: $10,000 (acquisitive). One artwork will be acquired up to the value of $10,000
Regional Artist Award: $2,500 (acquisitive).
One artwork will be acquired up to the value of $2,500 Entrants in this category must reside within a 200km radius of the City.
Sustainability prize $2,500 (acquisitive) One artwork will be acquired up to the value of $2,500. The artwork in this category must be made predominantly from recycled and/or plantation timber
People Choice Award $500. The winner of this category will be decided by public ballot and will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition.
The prize winning sculptures will be announced at the opening of the exhibition.
