INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - ARGENTINA
 | Deadline: July 25 th 2011 Various institutions organize an International Sculpture Symposium that will be held in a northern city of the Argentinian Republic. The symposium will take place in the days from the 5th to the 15th of September 2011. The theme of the work is free. The organizers will select 10 sculptors among national and foreigners artists. The organization will offer the participating artists a raw block of stone, : - Travertino up to 2 cubic meters in compact block - Travertino in separate blocks to realize assemblages - White marble up to a maximum of a 1,5 meters cubes. The organizers will furnish to every sculptor: - A place of work of approximately 3 x 3 meters - Electric energy of 220 Volts. - Compressed air Every sculptor will have to bring his/her own personal tools. The organizers don't offer tools neither specialized assistants to collaborate in the realization of the works. The organizers don't pay for the travel expenses . The artist must be covered by a personal insurance on the health. The organization offers to the participating artists: - National artists: U$S 4.000 (American dollars). - International artists: U$S 6.000 (American dollars). The organizers will also pay for the food and the lodging of the sculptors during the Symposium. The additional expenses such as phone, cafe, food and lodging of a possible companion, will be paid by the sculptor. The sculptors will have to bring a work of small format, up to 40 cms of height, approximately, for the realization of an "International exhibition of the Sculptors" that will be shared with local artists. The organizers have foreseen to give 8 of the sculptures produced during the Symposium to the Capital City for their public installation promoting in this way the world movement for the Public Art. The event will broadly be publicized at the local and national media, as well as by Internet, with daily news. The organizers will realize banners of the event and color catalogs with photo of the sculptor and his/her work.
