SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - ARMENIA
 | Submission deadline: June 15th , 2011 This international sculpture symposium is organized and hosted in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The event is scheduled for September/ October, 2011. The organization invites artists from Armenia and the broader region to get together to create sculptures directly in the center of Yerevan. The last week of the Symposium, when the artists will be finalizing their works, will be held in open air in the very location where the completed sculptures will finally be exhibited. This will enable all passers-by to have free access to the sculptors’ working place and will initiate a dialogue between the artists and the public. All participants are free to present their individual approaches under the slogan “Peace for Nature”. FPWC only requires not to consider wood as a raw material. The reason for this restriction is that Armenia suffers severely from deforestation and illegal logging. Thus trees should by any means be preserved. FPWC very much welcomes proposals for sculptures using waste materials and/or integrating renewable energy from natural forces (wind/sun/water).
