STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – NEW ZEALAND
 | Deadline: 30th of June 2011 This Sculpture Symposium will take place in New Zealand, from 26th December 2011 until the 21st January 2012. The organization will provide boulders of Taranaki andesite in varying sizes, andesite is a volcanic hard stone. Any other material will only be allowed after approval from the organizing committee. Power and compressor are available on site. Artists are expected to bring their own tools. International artists can be provided with angle grinders and other basic tools if necessary. A registration fee of $ 150.00 will apply for New Zealand artists only. All sales have to be processed by the organizing committee that will take a commission of 20 % on all sales. Unsold works can be stored at the Te Kupenga sculpture site for up to one year, during which they have to be removed at the artists cost or after which they become property of the organizer. The organization will provide twin share accommodation within walking distance of the symposium site for participating artists only, as well as daily lunches. Travel expenses are the artist’s responsibility. 10 local artists, 10 New Zealand nationals and 5 international artists will be selected to participate and preliminary interest is already high.
