SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – BELIZE

The theme for this Belize Sculpture Symposium is the 30th Anniversary of Belizean Independence, which was granted on September 21st, 1981. In line with this theme, the symposium is intended to explore the role of young Belizean people, responsible for the “new Belize”. Young Belizean artists will be encouraged to work alongside professional international artists in order to facilitate exposure to cross-cultural sculptural themes and techniques, which encouraging the development of a Belizean “sculptural identity”.
SYMPOSIUM DATES: November 12-December 10, 2011
Participating artists will receive:
a.. An honorarium of USD 1500.00
b.. Meals and accommodation for the duration of the symposium
c.. Reimbursement of return airfare from place of residence
