CALL FOR SCULPTORS IN STONE – UNTED KINGDOM

Following the success of the first Sculpture Symposium last year, the second symposium will be held from Saturday 23rd July till Monday 1st August 2011 in a beautiful part of Scotland.
With the support of the local community and businesses, ten sculptors from Britain and abroad will each create a large sculpture in red sandstone. These works should reflect the history and culture of the area, and will later be sited in and around Kirkcudbright. Applications are invited from experienced stone sculptors from Britain and abroad. The organization can only pay travelling expenses within the UK, but sculptors from other countries are welcome to apply if they will be in the UK this July.
Costs of accommodation and meals will also be met, and tools and equipment will be available. Last year each sculptor received £500 at the end of the Symposium, and the organization plans to do the same this year.
