INTERNATIONAL WOOD SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – DENMARK

This International Wood Sculpture Symposium will take place from the 12th to the 19th of June 2011 in a town of Denmark. Each sculptor will be provided with an oak log of approximately 150 cm x 50 cm of diameter. Out of this log the sculptor have to make at least 2 sculptures. It is allowed to use other materials, brought to the site by the sculptor him/herself.
The theme is free. Each participating artist must bring own tools including a power saw. Only artists coming from other countries but Europe will be supplied with a power saw. The electricity supply (220 volt) and shelter in case of rain, will be provided by the organisers, adapters will be available. The artists are not allowed to make or bring other things for sale in the symposium week. The created sculptures belong to the organizer. Each participating artist will be paid an amount of DKK 1500,00 upon arrival and € 300,- by departure time. Travel grants € 100,- for artists coming from Europe, €200,- for artists coming from outside Europe. The organization offers also free board and lodging for the participating artists ( companions will have to pay their expenses). The organization will invite approximately 15 sculptors to participate.
