WOOD SCULPTING SYMPOSIUM – FINLAND

The Symposium will take place from the 27th of June to the 03rd of July 2011 in a town of Finland.
Every Sculpture is to be made by one single artist. A log of pine, about 150 cm long and 40-50 in diameter will be available. There are also different size of logs available, please inform the organizer about the size and the amount of logs needed.
All tools, other than electric saws, must be provided by the artist himself. Electricity (220V), shelter and a carving stand will be provided by the Organizer. The main material of the sculpture must be wood, but if the artist will use other materials, they
must be provided by him. The subject of the sculpture is free. The completed sculptures are possessed by the organizing Association, who has a right to sell the finished sculpture. The Organizer will invite 20 to 25 sculptors out of entries.
Free accommodation (board and lodging) will be provided by the Organizer during the Symposium. Travelling expenses up to 350 Euro will be paid to the artist, who live in Europe and up to 500 Euro to the artist, who live outside of Europe. All personal expenditures, such as phone calls, extra drinks etc. are to be paid by the participants. The companions pay the accommodation costs (board and lodging) by themselves.
