CONTEST FOR A MONUMENT – SPAIN

The contest has for objective the selection of an unpublished and original proposal for the realization of a monument that represents a famous “poet of the people " socially compromised in approaching the culture to the people. Any artist, of any nationalities, without limitation of age, residence or nationality can partecipate to the contest. The proposals will be unpublished and the participants can introduce only one proposal.
The author can use for the design and the execution of the monument the techniques and the materials that believes fitter to his/her expressive demands, provided that they are resistant to the action of the atmospheric agents to guarantee a greater durability of the monument, (Example: bronze, copper, stone, iron, etc..).
The base of the monument cannot be inferior to 50 x 50 cm., neither superior to 200 x 200 cm. The minimum height of the monument, included the possible base, will be of 180 cms.
The first classified will have awarded the execution of the monument with a budget of Euro 20.000 that includes idea, development of the project, execution to real scale, transport, materials and definitive position in the assigned place.
The definitive monument will have to be concluded by March 25th 2011.
