7 SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - SWITZERLAND
 | Deadline : March 31. 2011 (postmark) This 7th Sculptor Symposium will take place from 22-29. July 2010 in a city in the mountains of Switzerland. Specially invited artists create sculptures on a given theme over a period of six days. Approximately twelve artists from all over the world will be working on place with wood and stone. The working place will be around a small lake with a platform on the lake and fountains, a location with an idyllic atmosphere. The organiser will set wood (larch and spruce trunks, calibre 050 cm, length 2.5 m) and erratic stone block (max 500 kg ) at your disposal. Please let us know with which kind of material you will be working. Other material such as glass, metal are admitted, but need to be organized and financed by the participant. The artist has the opportunity to exhibit some smaller sculptures in during the period of the symposium. The private view (vernissage) will be on 28. July. Professional or advanced sculptors may participate in the 6th sculptor meeting. The topic of this years meeting is the tesi of Gertrud von le Fort “When God remains silent for a long time, then he wants to say something”. The organization offer free material, accomodation and food for the duration of the event and a small honorarium for the participating artist of around 250.- SFr..The sculpture created during the symposium becomes property of the artist. The artist agrees to leave the sculpture on place for at least four months, unless the sculpture is sold. The final placement and care of the sculpture will be carried out of by the organizer. If a sculpture is sold or collected the artist will be informed and receives 60% of the selling price (if the artists provides the material he receives up to 80% of the selling price).
