INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - USA
 | Deadline: 15th of December 2010 This International Sculpture Symposium will take place for six weeks from approximately July 23 through September 10, 2011 (final dates are to be set) in a town of United States. The 2011 Symposium will be the third in a 10-year cycle of biennial symposia. The Symposium is not a themed event. The organization provides: - stone for the realization of the sculpture: Both granite and basalt will be made available. The stone is quarried within a 40 mile radius of the Symposium site and there will be a good choice of blocks. - Compressed Air - Electricity and Electric Cords - Air Hoses - 3 Ton Fork Lift (and other necessary heavy equipment for moving and positioning stone) Sculptors should bring other tools as desired. The Invited artists will receive: - Airfare, reimbursed up to $1500 USD with receipts. - Housing - Meals - Local Transportation - $5000 honorarium The symposium will publish a catalogue of the Symposium and a trail map that shows the location of the installed sculptures. Information regarding the events of the Symposium will be promoted through various media sources such as the Internet, television and radio. All sculptures created during the 2011 Symposium are the property of the organization and the communities in which the works are installed.
