INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTURE COMPETITION - CANADA

This International Snow Sculpture Competition will be held from February 10th to February 13th 2011 in a town of Canada.
Each team will be given a cylindrical block of compacted snow measuring approximately 3.6 meters of diameter by 3.6 meters of height. Maximum use of the block's volume and mass is required. However the finished work must not exceed the initial volume. The sculpture must be moulded in a rounded fashion as opposed to a raised fashion (in relief). Snow is the only material allowed. Use of colouring or water is prohibited. The committee will provide each team with shovels, a ladder and scaffolding. All sculptors must bring their own hand sculpting tools as they are not provided.
The use of any electrical, flame making, hydraulic or mechanical device (ex. chainsaw) is prohibited.
The committee will provide lodging for each team (3 people): one room per team. During the competition, all meals, at the exception of breakfasts, will be provided by the committee.
Transportation to and from the town will be provided for you to and from either the Montreal or Quebec City airport.
Refund of the travel expenses:
For the sculptors from North America, the committee will reimburse an amount of $ 900 CDN per team for plane tickets ($ 300 CDN per sculptor).
For the sculptors from outiside the north-american continent, the amount given by the committee est $ 1,500 CDN ($500 CDN per sculptor).
Prize: A cash prize of $1,000 CDN will be awarded to the winning team on Sunday, February 13th 2011 at the closing ceremony.
