AWARD AND EXHIBITION OF SCULPTURES - DENMARK

Artists are invited to submit entries by 6 September, 2010 for pre-selection in this sculpture award and exhibition in Denmark to be staged from June 2 – July 3, 2011.
All types, forms and sizes of sculpture in all materials are eligible for entry. The exhibition site can accommodate the largest to the smallest sculpture, however when submitting works artists are required to consider safety, ease of installation and removal, the environment and the ability of their work to withstand sun, strong wind, rain, salt spray and playful children climbing on the sculpture. Please describe the type of site or landscape you feel your sculpture requires.
Subsidies and awards confirmed to date for 2011:
- First Prize of 50.000 DKK
- The Public Choice Prize of 25.000 DKK
- The Children‟s Choice Prize of 25.000 DKK
- Subsidies of 15.000 DKK for European artists (including Scandinavia, Greenland, Russia, Baltic States, Finland etc.)
- Subsidies of 5.000 DDK for Overseas artists due to the relatively higher cost of transcontinental freight from countries such as Australia, Japan, China, New Zealand and the USA
- Funding for the packaging and freight of the sculptures to and from Aarhus;
- Heavy equipment for the installation and de-installation of the sculptures.
The curatorial panel will select 5 artists, whom we provide with additional funding for the realisation of their work, in particular for large scale installations required for some of the large open areas of the site. Artists whose works are chosen for exhibition will be notified by mid September 2010. All internationally freighted sculptures must arrive in Denmark by 10 May 2011, which is two weeks prior to first day of installation, to allow sufficient time to clear Danish Customs and Quarantine procedures. Once selected, International artists will be provided with information regarding transportation and customs. Installation will take place on Friday 27 – Tuesday 31 May 2011.
