SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - ARGENTINA

A Museum of Contemporary Art at Open air of a city in Argentina, organize its IVº International Sculpture Symposium. The symposium will take place from the 02nd to the 10th of October 2010. The theme of the work is free. The organization will select 12 national and foreigner sculptors.
The materials furnished by the organization will be the marble, wood and metal.
National white marble, irregular blocks of 1m³ approximately
Local wood. Please specify dimensions and quantity of the required trunks.
Metal. Please specify the required quantity.
The organization furnishes:
- a covered area of work of approximately 3 x 3 m.
- Electricity, 220V.
- Compressed air
- The place will be provided of: safety 24 hours, personal of cleaning, baths and place for rest and snack.
The organization will furnish the following equipment:
For the wood: chainsaw, fuel and lubricant.
For the metal: welder, electrodes and cutting and polishing disks.
For the marble: angular grinder machine of 9" and mass of 1kg.
Every sculptor will have to bring his/her personal tools.
The organization covers the expenses of lodging and food to the sculptors.
The organization doesn't pay the travel expenses.
The organization offers to every participating artist a honorarium as it follows:
Artist Curriculum zero, 800 pesos
National artists 2000 peso.
South-American artists 2700 pesos (700 American dollars approximately).
International artists 5800 pesos (1500 American dollars approximately).
The sculptors will have to bring a sculpture of small format, maximum 50 cm. of height approximately, for the “International Exhibition of Sculptors of the World."
The organization will realize a catalogue with the sculptor's photo, works and curriculum ( furnished by the artist). Every sculptor will receive 10 catalogues.
The works realized in the symposium will remain ownership of the organization.
