INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – COSTA RICA

A sculpture association and a city of Costa Rica organize an international sculpture symposium that will take place between April and May 2019.

Theme: Cultural Exchange.
• Represent stories, legends, customs and traditions from your place of origin using sculpture as the medium. The idea is to generate a cultural exchange between the participants and the locals.

Materials:
• Salvaged wood with an approximate dimension of 2 meters (height) by 50 cm up to 80 cm in diameter.
• Wood pieces of 1.80 meters (length) x 20cm to 40cm in diameter, in case you want to propose a sculpture set or assembly.
• Pieces going from 1.20 meters (length) x 30cm to 50cm in diameter, x 6 cm (depth) for low relief.
• Metal as a support material, no more than 20% of the volume of the finished work.

The organization offers food and accommodation but does not cover travel expenses. Foreign sculptors will be paid a fee of $ 1800.
