CALL FOR SCULPTORS - ITALY

A local organization announces a competition between artists in order to create an artistic work depicting the Empress Maria Teresa of Austria (1717-1780), Archduchess ruler of Austria, apostolic king of Hungary, queen reigning of Bohemia and Croatia and Slavonia, reigning duchess of Parma and Piacenza, reigning duchess of Milan and Mantua, lady of Trieste and moreover grand duchess consort of Tuscany and empress consort of the Holy Roman Empire as wife of Francis I of Lorraine.
The proposed works will have to interpret the theme in a key that necessarily includes a figurative component referring to the figure of Maria Teresa, while not rejecting the possibility of designing and presenting a work that is not composed of a base and a statue.
Italian or foreign artists domiciled in Italy can participate in the competition.
PRIZES
The Committee will recognize the following prizes to the five finalist artists:
- the 1st classified, winner of the call, € 15,000.00 (fifteen thousand / 00);
- to the 2nd classified euro 8,000.00 (eight thousand / 00);
- 3rd place € 5,000.00 (five thousand / 00);
- at the 4th and 5th place, € 1,000.00 (one thousand / 00) each.
