ARTIST IN RESIDENCE – ICELAND

Application for artist residency from Monday the 25th of March to Monday the 15th of April 2019 in the North West Iceland.
The call for artists to help preserve and visualize parts of the very important history of the country, a civil war which led to that Iceland was brought under Norwegian rule in 1262.
For selected (foreign) artists airfare will be paid for up to 70.000 IKR (max. around 565 euros) as well as travel to the centre’s location. The artists will self book and pay for the flights and then get a refund as soon as they bring the invoice to the centre. For all artists, lodging will be arranged and they will receive a stipend in two part. First part, 105.000 IKR (around 850 euros), will be paid on arrival and the second part, also 105.000 IKR (around 850 euros), upon, and is depending on completion of the works. Each artist is expected to create at least two pieces of art and materials (for up to 50.000 IKR / around 400 EUROS) will be provided and covered by the centre. Each artist is provided with a private bedroom and shares the remainder of the houses, which are fully furnished with all linen and general household facilities supplied. Meals are not included. Artists are responsible for their own insurance and visa.
