INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM IN STONE - ITALY

An Italian Municipality organize a biennial review of art, culture and tradition of the local sandstone, which will take place outdoors from 15 to 22 July 2018.
5 artists will be chosen by the City Council after having viewed the sketches of application. The artists will have to sculpt their works in blocks of sandstone coming from the local quarries and made available to the Municipal Administration.
For the dimensions of the sculptures, a block of stone with dimensions of 1.40 x 2.00 meters, thickness 0.30 / 0.60, is proposed as a basis for work.
Compatibly with the balance of dimensions, due to the placement of a rather large and open space, it will be possible for each sculptor to propose different measures that are appropriate to their needs for the realization of the work.
The admitted sculptors and regular participants in the event will be paid the sum of € 2,000.00 (two thousand) each for lump sum for the work carried out and will be guaranteed by the Municipal Administration the artist's stay starting from the day before the start of the event.
