Call for a public work on environmental issues.
Human activity is a serious threat to several ecosystems and thus all future life on Earth. Many such leaders in politics and science have set themselves against all the prevailing evidence and deny mankind’s role in climate change. Their influence greatly hampers efforts to slow or reverse its devastating effects.
Mission Statement To design and construct a public monument dedicated to the 50 most influential climate deniers with private and crowd sourced funding. It will be donated for permanent public placement, but a tour of 4 US cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York) will be budgeted for prior to its permanent installation.
Project parameters Sculpture must have a footprint of no larger that 200 sq. ft. Design must include a pedestal or display area at the base suitable for a plaque and covered in a material onto which donor’s names can be etched. Materials and design must be all-weather Design must creatively incorporate space for 50 names (many of which much be visible/readable from a distance), as well as visually represent and communicate their threat to the health of the planet. The piece must be engineered to be easily pieced, crated, and transported. All construction must be in the United States.
