SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - ITALY

Two Italian towns organize a Red Marble Sculpture Symposium that will take place from Thursday 13 to Sunday, July 23, 2017 for the creation of sculptural works to be located along the Art Paths of the city hosting the symposium.
Aims: - Safeguarding the historical memory of the territory; - Expansion of the artistic heritage of the municipality; - Spreading the languages of contemporary art; - Knowledge and valorisation of the typical resources of the territory through the elaboration of the works in local red marble; - Promotion, knowledge and enhancement of contemporary artistic expressions; - Development of the comparison between artists and the population (residents, foreigners and tourists).
Conditions: - The works must be made with the style of the bas-relief or the altar (at the discretion of the artist). - Works must be unpublished (never presented or made in other contexts).
Selection The Technical Commission will select 5 projects and the works will remain in permanent exhibition along the Art Paths.
Eligibility Participation is open to sculptors of all nationalities, without age limit. You require good knowledge of the Italian language.
The organization provides the material, board and lodging and a reimbursement of € 500 for each participant.
