SCULPTURE COMPETITION IN THE WOODS - ITALY

An Italian organization in collaboration with an Italian municipality and its department of culture and tourism organize a sculpture competition in the wood from 21st to 28th
June 2015.
The theme for the 2015 edition is: Monsters.
The sculptures will be distributed along a path in the woods occupying different levels: grass, logs, branches.
Artists can choose to participate in three different sections by choosing up to two. In any case the artist will be selected for the realization of a single work:
1. Section: construction of a work-installation to be carried out with material found on the spot, of natural origin, in a particular place in the woods prepared by the organization.
2. Section: execution of a sculpture vertically oriented from a trunk of linden of about 2 meters high and with a diameter ranging from 45 to 50 cm repositioned in the ground.
3. Section: with the 2015 edition will also offer artists the opportunity to realize a large work, in a large space housed in the forest facing the road.
Accommodation
Only for artists who come from distant places at least 50 kilometers from the venue of the event is planned accommodation in the area.
For all participating artists is guaranteed catering for the entire duration of the event.
Awards
The award will be assigned by the jury. The judgment will be final.
1st prize of € 1,000 for each section (installation, sculpture and for the work of large dimensions).
With the 2015 edition is set up, also a Prize in memory of an artist from Giudicarie who died.
Further works will be awarded with honorable mention.
