INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - CANADA

A Canadian Organization announces a Snow Sculpture Symposium, that will take place from 13th to 16th February 2015.
Theme: “Celebration”
Eligibility
- Any artist may apply to the Snow Sculpture Symposium. Preference will be given to those artists with snow sculpture experience.
Safety
- Each participant is responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of other competitors and the general public. A signed waiver will be required from each participant. The oranization reserves the right to remove any sculpture that can be considered to be a safety hazard, and sculptors are responsible for the safe design of their sculpture.
Ownership
- All sculptures become the property of the Silver Skate Festival when completed.
- The organization retains exclusive rights to the sculpture and may use any photographs, videos, or reproductions in any commercial application.
Contract and Waivers
Participants will be required to sign the appropriate waiver included in their package before competing in the snow sculpture event. Proof of medical insurance is required by each of the participating sculptor.
Awards
The People’s Choice and Artist’s Choice will be announced on Monday afternoon, February 16, 2015 at 2 p.m.
Remuneration
- A participation honorarium of $1000 will be given to each team invited to participate in the competition.
- A travel allowance will be given to a team of artist’s dependant on the travel distance to Edmonton: $200 for a team traveling 500 kilometers or more, $250 for a team traveling 1000 kilometers or more, $500 for a team traveling 2000 kilometers or more.
- Accommodation for out of town teams will be provided from Wednesday, February 13, 2015 to the morning of Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Transportation will be provided to and from the airport and to and from the site for out of town artists during the symposium. Only one room per team will be provided.
- Some site seeing opportunities or field trips will be provided during your stay in Edmonton.
