INTERNATIONAL WOOD SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - GERMANY

A German cultural association announces a Wood Sculpture’s Symposium (WSS) that will be held in 2015, 8th-17th May in Germany.
Participants
Sculptors, including up-and-coming young artists. There is no restriction on age or country of origin.
The Subject: no specific subject
Selection:
8 artists will be selected and notified.
Work material
The wood needed for the sculpture will be put at the disposal of the selected artists free of charge. Transportation of wood will be carried out by the organiser.
The artists will be supplied with the following items:
• electricity-supply.
• tent for protection from rain.
• if required: a staff member with chain saw.
Any additional tools will need to be provided by the artist himself/herself.
Accommodation details
If requested by the artist, the organiser can arrange free accommodation for the artist in private homes for the duration of the symposium (8th – 17th May 2015). Alternatively, the organiser may choose to provide accommodation in caravans at a nearby campground.
Catering for the artists (breakfast, lunch, supper) is covered by the organiser during the event.
Honorarium
An honorarium of 1500 Euros will be paid by the organiser to each participant. Half of the honorarium will be paid in the week prior to the start of the event. The remaining sum will be paid directly at the end of the symposium.
