A cultural association welcomes submissions from artists or arts organisations from any country, working in or on conflict or post-conflict countries, regions or communities and that address issues of war, violent conflict and social upheaval. Submissions are accepted from any country. Entrants do not have to live or work in the country, conflict zone or region that submissions may be addressing.
Submissions should be from the area of visual arts practice (ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking, architecture, performing arts, conceptual art, textile arts, artistic interventions) Submitted projects can be at any stage of their development, whether on going or completed. The Award must be used to develop the submission unless it is a completed project. Three award winners will be selected and invited to attend the award event in London in September (date to be confirmed).
Selected artist will be notified by August 2014 Submissions will be evaluated using the following criteria: subject relevance, impact, innovation, art projects that raise awareness, stimulate debate and artistic aesthetics; where the emphasis is on artworks that have transformative impact. The organization will consider up to three Awards of £2,500 each in 2014 for completed work or work that can be further developed. Winners will be supported to attend the award event to take place in London in September 2014.
