CONTEST TO YOUNG ARTISTS AND CURATORS – ITALY

An Arts Association, founder of the project, with the partnership of various local departments presents the Third Edition of international Art Price
The prize of this third edition is dedicated to the promotion and to the enhancement of the value of the
new generations of Artists and Curators, from Italy and from abroad, between the age of 18 and 35

The showcase of the 2013 edition of the contest, dedicated to the 20 finalists with their relative curators, will take place at the wonderful Archeological Museum of the city of between December 13th 2013 and January 12th 2014.
Five (5) projects (curator + artist) will be picked from a selection of the very best creative proposals. These projects will be presented in July/August 2014 during the event which will also be hosted at the museum.

For the 2013 edition the theme is
“Signs”
A tour among the connections throughout history, researching materials, techniques and symbols of the past
within the new languages of the contemporary arts-
The element that we are looking for in the works of artists and curators is the research of a new path, a new language, which should emerge from the physical but also spiritual relationship with Nature creativity and sensitivity.
Any technique can be used.

Section A – Complete Project: Curator presents Artist
The objective of this initiative is to allow young curators to present the work of young artists by developing a specific expositive process.
The young curator should present a complete project, which will serve as a tool to illustrate the work of a single artist by proposing and building a coherent presentation.

Section B – Artists
Every artistic branch or technique is allowed.
Both published and unpublished works are allowed without any limitation of materials,
supports or techniques. Combined works made up by more elements are also allowed.
Dimensions and Specs of the pieces:
Bi-dimensional pieces: should not be over 2 meters per side;
Tri-dimensional pieces: should not be over 2,5 meters in height and 1,5 meters in length/depth

Section C – Curators
The candidates should present a complete project for a Contemporary Art Exhibit, inspired by the theme of the contest and aiming to connect with a young artist, to be selected eventually among the ones admitted to the finals.

Awarding the Winner
At the end of the exhibit the jury formed by expert advisers of matter will select the winner, the art work that most of all has succeeded in embodying the spirit of the event. There will also be 4 more works selected to be exhibited during the event of July-August 2014.
The winners will be selected during the finissage, in the wonderful setting of Museum in the presence of the artist, the jury, the public and the public officials.
There will only be 1 final winner, however 4 honorable mentions will be awarded.

Networks and media exposure;
Partaking in the final catalogue.

To the winners (1 artist +1 curator)
Cash prize of 1.000eu/1,350usd as personal reward and also as contribution and financing for the project to be displayed in July 2014;
Networks and media exposure;
Exposure and Interviews over our media partners;
Invitation as winner of the 2013 edition to the 2014 event;
Vernissage;
Catalogue;
Realization of Dedicated Interviews;
5 days Artistic Residency: Artist meets Curator. 5 days stay in the area (place and period to be determined among our partners) to get inspired, to interact and to finalize a project to be presented at the museum during the event of July/August 2014.
