STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - USA

The fifth International Sculpture Symposium will take place for six weeks from approximately August 3 through September 14, 2014 (final dates are to be set) and will be held in Maine.
Organizers: The International Sculpture Symposium is the largest public sculpture Symposium in the USA. The International Sculpture Symposium is a non-profit organization, working in partnership with various organizations. The project engages communities (sponsoring towns and cities) who will receive the finished pieces.
The International Sculpture Symposium maintains a special call to artists of Maine. Maine artists who do not have a substantial portfolio or who have not produced large stone public works but are interested in applying, should contact the Art Director.
The Invited artists will receive: Airfare, reimbursed up to 1500 USD with receipts. Housing Meals Ground Transportation provided to and from Maine airports, and during the symposium to community and symposium events. 5000 Honorarium
The symposium provides: Compressed Air Electricity and Electric Cords Air Hoses The artist may use personal tools for use in the creation of their work.
Fork Lift (and other necessary heavy equipment for moving and positioning stone) Quarried granite blocks of various shapes and sizes not to exceed 18,000 lbs
