INTERNATIONAL SNOW SCULPTURE COMPETITION - CANADA

The International Snow Sculpture Competition will be held from February 6th to February 9th 2014 in Quebec,
Arrival and departure The sculptors must be presents at the official meeting on Wednesday, February 5th 2014 and at the closing ceremony of Sunday, February 9th 2014.
Lodging and meals The committee will provide lodging for each team (3 people): one room per team. That room will be available from noon on Wednesday, February 5th until noon on Monday February 10th 2014.
During the competition, all meals will be provided by the committee.
TRANSPORTATION Transportation to and from Quebec City airport to and from the place will be provided. Each team must have a maximum of three luggages and a tool box.
A shuttle will be available between the residence and the main competition site for the duration of the event.
For the sculptors from North America, the committee will reimburse an amount of 300 CDN per sculptor for plane, bus or train tickets or for gas.
For the sculptors from outside the north-American continent, the amount given by the committee is 500 CDN per sculptor for plane, bus or train tickets.
The team of Canada is always represented by the winning team of the provincial level of the past year. The team’s captain must not reside in Quebec.
SNOW BLOC Each team will be given a cylindrical block of compacted snow measuring approximately 3.7 meters (12 feet) of diameter by 3.7 meters (12 feet) of height. The sculpting block that each team receives will be drawn by lottery prior to the start of the competition on February 5th
EQUIPMENTS The committee will provide each team with two shovels, a ladder, a light and two scaffolding. All sculptors must bring their own hand sculpting tools as they are not provided. The use of any electrical, flame making, hydraulic or mechanical device (ex. chainsaw) is prohibited.
