NATURE ART SYMPOSIUM - KOREA

Ingrandisci la fotoDeadline: 20th July, 2013

The Nature Art Biennale Korean, an international festival for nature artists and a wonderful stage for their communication, announce the 6th exhibition.
The 2014 Biennale’s main theme is ‘Horizontally Growing Trees’. In this context are “trees” are a metaphor. “Trees” reference a part of the whole of something, that something in this case being nature in its entirety. The theme demands we transform our recognition of nature (“trees”), from the standard hierarchical (vertical and linear) growth of an individual ‘tree’ to the non-hierarchical (horizontal and lateral) growth of “trees” as part of a multiplicity; individual trees form a forest, and the forest is part of the multiplicity that is the more all-inclusive Mother Nature. This mechanism is similar to that of a ‘rhizomatic’ space, where stems, like crab-grass, grow horizontally through their lateral connections to one another. Nature here is represented as something with great diversity and multiplicity that embodies dynamic concepts such as horizontality, expansion, openness, decentralization and an ongoing journey.
