SYMPOSIUM OF STEEL, MARBLE AND WOOD - ARGENTINA
 | Deadline: June 06 2013 The Institute of Culture, the Municipal Council of Culture and the Municipality of an Argentine City a will carry out the Third Symposium of Sculptors 2013, that will take place in the City from 3 to 11 of July 2013. - The encounter will run for 9 days and it will be compound for the artworks outdoor of the participants, thus the public will be able to appreciate the working process and to dialogue with the sculptors. The sculptures will be made in Stainless Steel, Marble and Wood. Sculptors in Stainless Steel 3 slabs of Stainless Steel of 1.500x3.000x2 Mm will be provided. The Organizing Committee will verify the project so that the thickness of the steel is safe for exposing the artwork in public places a) the energy of 220 v will be provided for the electric tools, also Plasma- welder b) The sculptor will bring own tools, including the grinder c) The Organizer Committee will allow the artist to request help in case the slabs should be folded with special forms. Sculptors in Marble The organizer Committee will provide each sculptor an irregular block of marble no bigger than 2 mt and the necessary materials. The artist will have 220V of electricity, cable systems, and a compressor with necessary extensions. Sculptors in wood. Each sculptor will receive a wooden trunk of Holy Wood (Palo Santo) 240 cm. Local, national and International artists will participate. The artwork has to be concepted for a public space and to be original and unpublished. The topic “is free". - The organization will provide the artists the accommodation, food, and a honorary for the work The four foreign sculptors will receive a cachet of 1.000usd each one, National Sculptors will receive a cachet of 5.000ars and Provincial Sculptors 3.000ars and the certificates to each one. The expenses of transport in economic class will be covered by the Organizing Committee. Each participant will have it’s own insurance against work risk and will take the measures of safety for the tools and materials.
Each participant will take her own medical insurance. The works carried out during the event by the artists will be property of the municipality to be exhibited in public places.
