INTERNATIONAL ART FESTIVAL - LUXEMBOURG

Florence Hoffmann, AIESM Manager for Luxembourg, together with the Groupe Animation Gare a.s.b.l. organize the GARE-ART-FESTIVAL. The festival will take place from 10th to 18th August 2013
on the Luxembourg-city. Only professional sculptors can participate: 2 national, 4 international. The festival will take place at any weather.
There isn’t theme for the sculpture.
Material: raw-shaped block of calcareous stone. Dimensions can vary and are about +/- 1m3.
Integration of other elements/material is possible as far as this is not more that 10% of the whole artpiece and as far as the artist brings it along with him/her or buys it in the area.
The organizer puts on the artists’ disposal: tents for weather protection (rain or sun), security barriers
for protection of sculptures and working-area, trestles, electricity (220 Volts and 100 Volts only on specific
anticipated request of the artist). Other special items are to be paid by the artist him/herself.

Sculptors bring their own tools to work the stone. No assistants available.
For economic matters, the travel expenses can be carried by the organizer up to 65% of
their costs: car-travel refund is calculated individually considering distance between the artist’s residence and Luxembourg. For train or airplane travels, 65% of economy class tickets from home to
Luxembourg-city (the shortest distance) are refunded. Refunding is only possible by providing the travel invoices/vouchers/tickets to the organizers.
Each artist gets 2.000 Euros for his/her work and sculpture, paid the last day of the symposium on
August 17th .
Each artist coming by car gets a parking-place for the whole duration of the festival.
Food and lodging is paid by the organizer.
Artists can bring a member of their family if they want but this person will have to pay a supplement for a double-room and will pay all his/her breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
In case of unsold, the sculptor takes back his/her sculpture or organizes him/herself to have the
sculpture moved after the exhibition in the station to another place. The organizer does not pay for that transportation.
The artist attend all social events foreseen by the organizer such as official opening with the presence
of cultural and political authorities.
Arrival of sculptors : Friday August 9th.
Departure of sculptors : Sunday August 18th
