SCULPTURE FOR AIRPORT - ITALY

An Italian Airport announce a contest for the realization of the artwork for the embellishment of the passengers area airport
The artwork will have to be a sculpture and will have to have the creative character, to be original and objective novelty. The artist will have to express the spirit that inspired the construction of the International Airport to memory of the glory of the ancient republic
The choice of the materials and the executive techniques is free. The media will have to have the characteristics of stability and duration, ease of maintenance, of resistance to the weather and of total safety for the passengers.
The budget is 226.000,00 eu ( 298.730 usd) no VAT.
The budget includes any costs related to the ideation to the realization, to the transport and its installation and mass in safety, to the static testing.
The contest is open to artists: Italian or foreign, physical or legal entity, also individual or team.
The contest articulates in two steps: in the first one , considering the introduced documentation, the Jury will select 10 artists, those will be invited to the second phase. In the second phase the candidates will have to introduce a sketch that will be valued by the Committee. Just an artwork can be introduced
The Committee will proceed as it follows:
--Comparison between curricula on the base of:
i) number and kind of realized sculptures;
ii) the national and international notoriety of artist, through the exhibition presence and/ or specialistic publications;
iii) artistic and technical elements of the realized works or projected;
--Evaluation of the approach to the theme of the contest.
The Committee will assign to four artists deserving, the amount of 2.000,00eu to each as reimbursement to expenses sustained for the presentation of the sketch.
